We float various stretches of the Flathead River between Teakettle Fishing Access and Old Steel Bridge depending on season and conditions. This stretch of the Flathead winds through the heart of the Flathead Valley with the Swan Range and Whitefish Range visible in nearly every direction. Target species include native Westslope Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Mountain Whitefish — all wild, all beautiful, and all more than happy to eat a well-presented fly.

Your guide will meet you at a central location and drive to the put-in together — it's a good chance to ask questions, get comfortable, and hear what the river is doing that day. Before you launch, your guide will walk you through the basics on the bank — how to cast, how to read the water, and what to look for. Once you're on the river, you'll refine everything from the boat as you float through some of the most scenic stretches of the Flathead Valley between Teakettle Fishing Access and Old Steel Bridge.
The technique changes with the conditions and time of year — some days that means using dry flies to target rising fish, other days it's nymphing deep runs or fishing a dry-dropper rig. Your guide reads the river in real time and puts you in the best position to catch fish no matter what the conditions are doing. By the end of the float most guests can't believe how quickly four hours went by — and how many fish they caught.
